Enhancing educational metadata with digital rights information: the EMDIR web-based environment

چکیده
Taking into account the constantly increasing number of educational resources available on the Web, the problem arising is to determine who is authorized to access these resources and under which conditions. This problem is addressed by using Digital Rights information, namely information about the rights concerning digital intellectual property. This paper presents the EDMiR web-based environment which aims to facilitate the efficient search and discovery of learning objects and at the same time to control the user access by employing a metadata application profile, which combines Educational Metadata and Digital Rights Information.
